On Saturday, 21 September 2024, INBCB gathered for our Annual General Meeting, which was followed by an enriching and thought-provoking event on “Empathy in Leadership”.
It was a privilege to host a panel with distinguished leaders Kavita Singh (United Breweries Ltd.), Katja Larsen (SilverSpoon Consultancy), and Soundar Raj (NXP India), moderated by Monika Gogna, Vice-President of the INBCB, known for her expertise in navigating cross-cultural dynamics (Nyāsa Solutions®).
Together, we explored the evolution of empathy in leadership and its critical role in fostering inclusive, empowered teams.
This conversation was more than just insightful — it was a call to action. Let’s lead with empathy, but let’s also ensure we empower, not enable.
INBCB board members had the honour of participating in an exclusive meeting during the visit of the Netherlands Ambassador to India, Ms. Marisa Gerards, at the launch of INBA, Chennai. The Ambassador, keen on fostering stronger ties across India had an engaging discussion on building a unified, pan-India networking platform. This initiative aims to strengthen collaboration in business, culture, education, and innovation between India and the Netherlands.
The meeting was followed by a reception. It was a successful evening of dialogue, with INBA members and office bearers from across India in attendance, further promoting Indo-Dutch relations.
The INBCB proudly launched the third edition of our magazine, “The Corridor,” in the esteemed presence of the Consul General of the Netherlands, Ewout de Wit, and our members in Bangalore!
“The Corridor” stands as a beacon within the India-Netherlands Business Corridor, uniquely bringing together invaluable insights from industry leaders and stakeholders alike. In our previous editions, we delved into crucial topics such as sustainability and intercultural awareness. This edition, however, shines a spotlight on the paramount importance of partnerships.
As a business circle, we recognise our duty to foster partnerships and collaboration amongst our members. In this edition, we are honoured to present an array of insightful contributions from a variety of collaborators.
We had the privilege of co-moderating an exciting roundtable discussion with representatives from leading organisations such as Randstad India, Philips Innovation Campus Bangalore, United Breweries Ltd., IKEA India, NXP Semiconductors, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Koppert Biological Systems, and Signify Innovations Lab. Let’s not forget the distinguished guests from the Consulate-General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bengaluru, represented by Consul-General Ewout de Wit and Sujith Shyamanur.
Together, we dived into the crucial topic of diversity and inclusion (D&I), brainstorming innovative strategies to make real progress in these key areas.
This event was brought to life by Randstad in partnership with India Netherlands Business Circle Bengaluru (INBCB) represented by Rob Tholenaars, Monika Gogna Dr. (HC) Jamuna Ravi, Karthik Balachandran, and Vinita Bhatia, hosted by Viswanath Ps, Revathi Raghunath, and Eittee Gupta from Randstad.
We kicked off 2024 with a memorable bicycle ride led by none other than Bangalore’s very own Bicycle Mayor, Sathyanarayanan Sankaran. As we pedaled through the vibrant streets of Bangalore, Sathya shared fascinating insights into the city’s rich history, pausing at iconic landmarks like the old Post Office, the esteemed High Court, and the historic first engineering college.
Despite the challenges posed by infrastructural limitations, our ride underscored the enduring spirit of cycling in Bangalore. It’s inspiring to witness how community engagement and passion can overcome obstacles, promoting sustainable modes of transportation.
We capped off our journey with a delightful breakfast, fostering camaraderie and reflecting on the beauty and history of Bangalore. Here’s to many more enriching experiences and collaborative endeavours in the year ahead!
The INBCB wrapped up the year with a delightful event, graced by the esteemed presence of our Consul General of the Netherlands, Ewout de Wit, and the Deputy Consul General of the Netherlands, Anne Cremers. We reflected on the significant events of the past year, and recognised the evolving landscape we find ourselves in.
INBCB had the privilege of meeting the Prime Minister of The Netherlands, Mark Rutte, whose Economic Mission 2023 to Bangalore underscored the importance of Indo-Dutch collaborative efforts, bringing together a significant delegation led by President Ingrid Thijssen of VNO-NCW. The Mission showcased the robust and diverse economic connections between the Netherlands and India.
The INBCB hosted its Annual General Meeting on 9 September 2023. The event featured a keynote address by Dr. Brinda V from ISRO, which provided valuable insights into the importance of collaboration and partnership in not only space but also in business, a core principle of our mission at INBCB: fostering business success through collaboration.
The interactive networking session led by Monika Gogna also played a crucial role in the event, allowing our members to connect in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. We believe that these moments of interaction lay the groundwork for meaningful partnerships.
As we look back on this day, we look forward to more opportunities for collaboration, growth, and shared success.
